I love traveling. I actually just love travel in general. I love looking up flights to different places and helping people find amazing deals. It is a sort of hobby/obsession that I have.
One of the reasons I love travel so much is the perspective that it gives me in relation to time.
Let me explain.
We are heading to Kenya, which is 8 hours ahead of our local time in Oklahoma. That means that for the next week we will be living life 8 hours ahead of our friends and family. We will be bending time for a brief period. Our thoughts will no doubt take us 8 hours back to where our friends and family are, however our hands and feet will be with those we are serving in Kenya.
The same will be true for us when we return to Oklahoma. As we get back to our everyday lives we will be able to think about what our new found brothers and sister are doing in Kenya. We will be able to pray for them in the present and know that it will be 8 hours further into the day for them.
As we think about mission, you can think about the missionaries in Panama, Thailand, and other places and know that somewhere it is their time of day to be up and about. 24/7/365 we all work towards a common goal and we serve an extraordinary God.
How has travel affected your perspective? Where would you like to travel and serve next?

This is the KLM 747 Combi that we will be flying on to Amsterdam.
